# world_matrix()

Reads this bone's current placement as a 4×4 matrix. It does not move the screen.

Omit `space` and you get world. `"local"` is relative to the parent. `"local"` with no parent relationship yet raises `SessionError`. Any word other than `world` or `local` is rejected.

If you only need the numbers in the Show Transform window, [trs](trs.md) is easier to read.

### Signature
```python
bone.world_matrix(space="world") -> 4x4
```

| space | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `"world"` | Scene space. The default. |
| `"local"` | Relative to the parent bone. |

### Example
```python
bone = api.bone("Bip001 Spine")
print(bone.world_matrix())
print(bone.world_matrix("local"))
```
